The state government has permitted the Excise Department to have 131 additional posts of different capacities besides setting up an addition 14 Excise Stations.
Announcing this here today, the Minister for Excise V Srinivas Goud said this was taken up as part of its revamping programme vide a GO MS No.94 dated August 31, 2020. He said the revamping was made in 2005 last during united Andhra Pradesh and since then, additional posts are being created depending on the requirement. However, no effort was made to create any new posts for the Telangana region.
This was taken to the notice of the Chief Minister KCR several times resulting in his approval today and thanked the CM for allowing this major revamping after 15 years. “We had the division of posts on the basis of 41.68 ratios during state bifurcation”, he said adding that “now this move would help strengthen my Excise department further in the state”.
