Father poisons his days-old twin daughters, Minister calls for action

Minister Srinivas Goud inspects the twin infant-girls undergoing treatment after being poisoned by their father in Mahabubnagar

In what can be called as the most inhuman act, a father has administered poison to his days-old twin daughters in Nancherla village of Gandeed Mandal in Mahabubnagar district.

Shocked at the ghastly incident, Minister V Srinivas Goud rushed to the Ravi hospital in the town where the infants are undergoing treatment only to urge doctors to save the infants at any cost and not to worry about the money. Later he revealed that the father of the infants had resorted to this extreme step as he was unhappy with the birth of twin girls in the second issue as well agianst his wishes. He has one girl in the first issue.

Family members rushed the children to the Ravi hospital in the town wherein they are undergoing treatment. While thanking the doctors for striving to save the children, Srinivas Goud fumed at their father for resorting to such heinous crime and ordered police to take stringent action against him.

Expressing his concern at the incident, Srinivas Goud felt that laws should be made more stringent to deal with such heinous crimes and appealed to the people not to hold such outdated heinous thoughts against girl children. “In fact, they prove to be more helpful than boys nowadays as they are reaching skies in competing with their male counterparts”, he said adding that “Those who perpetrate atrocities on women shouldn’t forget that they have also born to a woman”.
