Father sexually harasses step-daughter in Neredmet

Accused Jayaram

In what can be termed as a shameful act, a step-father of a 17-year-old girl has been sexually harassing her in Neredmet police station limits.

The incident came to light only after her mother reported the matter to the police who in her complaint alleged that her husband Jayram has been harassing her mentally and physically to bring back home her teenaged daughter whom she sent her to her first husband. According to the details, Jayram married the victim after his first wife divorced him. But she already had a grownup daughter with her first husband. However, she complained that Jayram married her by promising to look after both of them well but of late he started sexually harassing his step-daughter.

The mother upon noticing this had sought the help of one of her relatives who kept the girl under her original father’s custody. Infuriated by this, Jayram began harassing his wife pestering to bring the girl back. Unable to tolerate his mental and physical tortures, the victim complained to the police.

However, it is learnt that the police have registered petty cases against the accused contrary to the serious nature of the crime which can be perceived as no less than the sections under the Nirbhaya and Disha Acts.

When Maahyderabad tried to reach the Inspector of Neredmet it was found switched off.
