Former Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy passes away

Former Home Minister and Veteran Trade Union leader Naini Narasimha Reddy breathed his last after the midnight and in the early hours today.


He has been on the ventilator for the last 25 days after he was tested positive for Coronavirus on September 28. Yesterday evening CM KCR visited the Apollo hospital where he was admitted and consoled the family members. Doctors declared him dead after midnight.

His body has been shifted to the Ministers’ quarters to enable the party leaders to pay their last respects.

Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao has expressed shock over the death of former Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy. The CM recalled his association with Nayani Narasimha Reddy during the Telangana separate statehood movement and in the state government. The CM has conveyed his condolences to members of the bereaved family.

The CM instructed the Chief Secretary to arrange the last rites to the departed leader with official honours.

Meanwhile, condolences keep pouring in with political leaders irrespective of party affiliations including Congress Party chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, BJP President Bandi Sanjay, Union Minister of State for Home Kishan Reddy and others paid their respects to the departed soul.
