GHMC Poll Results: All set for the Judgement Day today

SEC Parthasarathy is seen reviewing the preparations for the counting of votes in GHMC polls with returning officers.

The much-awaited GHMC election results will be out tomorrow Friday with the State Election Commission (SEC) making elaborate arrangements for the counting of votes in about 30 centres including the LB Stadium.


The repolling was also completed today in Old Malakpet Division following the change of party symbols between CPI & CPM parties that was stalled on December 1st.

The following are the highlights of the Counting arrangements on December 4, 2020:

  • Counting will begin at 8 am in all 30 counting centres simultaneously.
  • 150 Halls were arranged based on the number of wards in each circle.
  • Each hall will have 14 tables
  • Each table will have one Counting Supervisor with 2 Counting Assistants
  • A total of 8,152 counting staff have been deployed
  • 31 Counting Observers were appointed
  • Entire counting process will be under CC TV & Video survellience for each table
  • Each Round will have 14,000 votes
  • Post ballot papers will be counted before opening the ballot boxes
  • A total 34,50,331 Lakh voters have cast their votes out of 74,67,256 voters
  • Over 18,60,040 lakh men voters and 15,90,219 lakh women voters have utilised their franchise.
  • Covid regulations are must to follow like wearing of masks and sanitation etc.
