GHMC spent 8,113 Crore on city development in 6 years: KTR

In order to provide better facilities to improve the standard of living from the past 6 years, the state government has spent over Rs. 8,113 Crores spent on various development works in GHMC, said the Minister for MA&UD K Taraka Ramarao.


The Minister inaugurated 3 link roads and laid the foundation stone for an underpass in  Raod No.45 Nandi Hills in Serilingampally Zone. Speaking on the occasion KTR said this Rs.8,113 Crore was spent towards Flyovers, Underpass, laying of slip/link roads, junction improvements and other developmental activities. In order to reduce the traffic on the main roads, 137 link roads developed in the city with Rs.313 Crores, the minister said appealing to the citizens to give suggestions and advises for link roads wherever required.

Mayor Dr Bonthu Rammohan said as per the directions of the Minister K Taraka Rama Rao, 137 link roads undertaken in order to reduce the traffic on the main roads.

Minister laid the foundation stone for construction of Vehicular underpass from Old Bombay highway to Road No. 45 route with Rs.23.10 Crores. He also inaugurated a link road from Old Bowenpally to Engineering Staff College via Delhi Public school with a length of 2.30 Kms with Rs.19.51 Crore while another link road of 1.20 km length was also inaugurated from Road from old Bombay to Rd No.45. The four-lane road reduces the sizable traffic problem on Old Bowenpally Road. He also inaugurated HT lines with Rs 15.54 Crores and 1.20 Km link road Miyapur high way to HT Lines with 9.61 Crores. 

Ministers Smt.Sabitha Indra Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, MP Ranjit Reddy, MLC Naveen Rao,  MLA Arekepudi Gandhi, Corporators Nagender, Venkatesh, Zonal Commissioner Ravi Kiran, Chief Engineer Zia Uddin and others participated in the programme.
