The state government is fully geared up to extend all possible medical services by enhancing its testing, tracing and treating methods to contain the fast-spreading Coronavirus in the state, said the Minister for Health Etela Rajendar.
Addressing media here today, Etela said the situation in the state, however, is far better than the neighbouring state. Hence, ruled out the possibility of imposing a curfew or lockdown like a situation like in the past where the mortality rate was high.
‘Now the situation is different today as we have a very less mortality rate below 0.5%. The experience we gained over the year has taught us to learn how to face the virus by enhancing testings and treatings besides doubling the target for vaccination even up to one lakh and more”, he said.
He further stated they have activated over 11,000 beds arranged for the purpose last time along with oxygen facilities. The permission has been given to take up recruitment including army hospital. All other hospitals in the state will extend covid treatment while continuing their regular treatments for other ailments.
“No hospital can deny admission and appealed to the private hospitals to treat Corona patients on humanitarian grounds and not as a commercial proposition to extract money.
He also instructed all the medical staff right from Asha worker to the Director level to work without obtaining any leave. “I request every one of them to keep open their mobiles and attend each and every call”, he appealed.
He also urged people not to hesitate in getting tested even for a minute symptom is found based on which the treatment will be given in all public and private hospitals.
He further revealed that they have been updating the Chief Minister on day-to-day basis based on which we have been receiving instructions as what next to be done.
