The Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao has issued instructions to the officials to ensure that smooth conduct of the proposed International Metro Cities Representatives Conference to be held in the city in October. He told GHMC officials that no inconvenience of what so ever be caused to the delegates. He was reviewing the arrangements with secretary general of Metro Polis Alian Lesaux and manager Metropolis Agnes Bickart who called on him to congratulate him for taking it prestigious to organise the three-day international Mayors conference from October 7-10 next month in the city which would attended by Mayors, Commissioners, Town Planning Officers and experts in the municipal administration from Country and abroad.
The officers further informed the Chief Minister that over 2000 delegates from 60 countries will attend the conference. Already 566 delegates from 43 countries have registered their names. They also thanked the state government for making all the arrangements for participants to attend the conference.
The Conference will be a sort of joint learning among delegates from different countries. Experts in Municipal Administration and Governance will address the delegates. They would discuss the issues arising out of urbanisation and methods to overcome them. Advisor to the Government B.V. Paparao, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, Secretary, Municipal Administration S.K. Joshi, GHMC Special Commissioner Babu Ahmed, CMO Principal Secretary S. Narsingh Rao attended the meeting.
