The Mahabubabad Superintendent of Police N Koti Reddy declared that the kidnapped boy Deekshith was murder by a single person identified as Manda Sagar of Sanigapur village.

Revealing the details of the murder, the district SP said that another person Manoj Reddy has also been taken into custody and inquiries are on to establish his role. He said the kidnapper is known to the family as he is a professional automobile mechanic running an automobile shop at the 3 Kota Centre in the Mahabubabad town. As he resides in the nearby house of Ranjith Reddy and with an intention to make easy money decided to kidnap the boy seeing they are affluent. Hence, he picked up the boy easily on his bike and took him to the Danaiah hills and spent there for one hour but he changed his mind and killed the boy by strangulating him after fear of getting caught. After returning home, the culprit began demanding ransom from the parents. But in order to wipe out the evidence, he went back to the Danaiah hills and burnt the body by pouring petrol.

He said the police could trace the culprit with a CC TV pic in which it was found that the boy was being taken away by the kidnapper on his bike. “The kidnapper was intelligent he took all precautions as not get recorded in CCTV footage anywhere as he knows every installation points in the city”, said Koti Reddy concluding that this has led them to trace the culprit and clarified that further investigation is on in this direction. He also said that kidnapper was hardly 24-year-old and had been observing Ranjith Reddy family as he stays nearby. He resorted to the crime after conducting a recky and only for want of quick money
