The High Court has admitted a writ petition today seeking to stop the film being shot by the Telugu film director Ram Gopal Varma on the rape and murder Disha and issued notices to the 7 people of the film unit.
Arguing on behalf of the petitioner Sridhar Reddy, the father of Disha, the counsel Aruna Kumari brought to the notice of the court that the victim’s family has already complained to the Judicial Commission in this regard which is under investigation now and questioned as to how the filmmakers could produce a film when the matter is sub-judice. She also argued that the victim’s family will be further humiliated if the film is released and urged the court to instruct the filmmakers to remove the trailer of the same released on Youtube channel.
The court agreeing with the argument issued notices to the 7 people in this regard including Ramgopal Varma, the filmmaker and the matter was posted to 4 weeks later.
It may be recalled that the Disha father Sridhar Reddy has been fighting against RGV’ forever since he announced the film on his daughter who was raped and killed by the goons who were subsequently encountered by the cops later. Ramgopal’s announcement gave Disha’s family sleepless nights as it is slated to be released on November 26, 2020, the day on which she was found murdered.
