Telangana High Court on Monday gave its nod to the AP government to distribute money below Rs20,000 to the depositors who were cheated in the Agri Gold case.
The AP government explained the court that the CID will collect the data of the depositors from the local ward secretariats which will be cross checked by a DSP rank officer along with the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) while SPs and Collectors will scrutinise the applications received from the depositors through District Legal Services Authority.
After all the above process is over, the Collectors would deposit the money into the beneficiaries bank account directly and sets the deadline for completion of the payment process as March 31, 2021, said the counsel for the Andhra Pradesh government.
Meanwhile, reacting to a petition filed by the AP Government seeking to transfer the Agrigold depositors cheating case to Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana Court made it clear that only the Chief Justice can take the final decision in this regard. However, AP government has sought 2 weeks time to file reply in this regard to which TS HC has approved.
