High Court on Friday permitted the state government to go for the privatisation of RTC routes in the states. The bench today allowed the government to issue 5100 route permits on which a stay was imposed by it earlier.
The court also struck down the petition filed by the retired professor of Osmania University PL Visweshwar Rao seeking to prevent the government from privatising the bus routes.
With the decision coming in favour of the government, the Chief Minister is yet to announce his final decision on allowing the RTC employees to join back their duties unconditionally as they demanded following the withdrawal of the strike which went on for 49-days. Today, being the 50th day, the 48,000 RTC families are awaiting the final judgement of CM KCR.
