In a shocking revelation, Additional Public Prosecutor of the Union Government has informed the Telangana High Court that the entity of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is illegal as the bifurcation of RTC has not yet completed.

In view of this new revelation, the 2-member Dharmasanam led by the Chief Justice RS Chowhan questioned the state government’s veracity to issue notifications for employment and privatising buses and routes etc. when the RTC existence itself is not legal.

The CJ earlier took serious exception at the way the 4 IAS officers including Chief Secretary SK Joshi, Transport Secretary Somesh Kumar, Finance Secretary Ramakrishna and RTC in-charge MD Shushil Kumar misguiding not only the court but also the government. He chided them for submitting false figures to the court and to the Transport Minister and the Chief Minister.

“Being senior IAS officers how you people could misguide the government and the court as well. This is highly objectionable”, he lamented and wanted to know whether the government is interested in resolving the issue or not and finally instructed the authorities to hold discussions with the RTC employees and submit the report and postponed the further hearing on November 11.

Meanwhile, the RTC JAC leaders announced that their agitational programme would continue as announced earlier and urged Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao to hold discussions with them and resolve the issue at the earliest.
