Telangana High Court on Tuesday ordered the state government to submit its action taken report with regard to its orders in extending flawless service to the Corona patients.

The division bench led by the Chief Justice literally grilled the Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, besides Health Secretary and the GHMC Commissioner their failure to improve the conditions in Government hospitals. The court also expressed its anger at the way the private hospitals are charging exorbitantly to treat Covid patients.

The judge questioned the CS as to why he could not conduct Covid tests on par with other states and why people are dying in desperation to get medical treatment. “Can’t you control the private hospital from fleecing covid patients”, questioned the CJ adding that “Why can’t you take action against such hospitals”.

The court also found fault with the daily health bulletins being released as there were many discrepancies being pointed out and asked to display the number of beds, ventilators etc available on a daily basis.

The court finally asked the officials to strictly follow the ICMR and WHO guidelines and suggested to convert function halls and community centres into quarantine centres so that it would help the poor and the downtrodden.
