‘Hero’ of Delhi violence arrested in UP

The Uttar Pradesh police have finally arrested one of the prime accused Farooq for firing at the police with his pistol injuring many during the anti-CAA violence that erupted recently in Maujpur area of New Delhi. It is also claimed that the police constable Ratan Lal died due to bullet injury fired by Farooq.

According to the details, the accused identified as Farooq and a resident of Karaval area in Delhi had fired at will on the police during stone-pelting. His pictures of firing at police with his pistol went viral on social media only after which police had framed charges against him. He went into hiding since then. However, Police could trace him in a remote village near Bareli and took him into custody today.

It may be recalled that over 45 people died and more than 200 people injured seriously during the orchestrated violence caused by anti-CAA agitators in view of the US President Donald Trump’s maiden visit to New Delhi on February 26 and 27. It is said unofficially over 2000 people have been arrested in this connection and charge sheets were filed in over 800 cases.
