Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar initiated Green India Challenge has attracted yet another corporate leader – Hetero Pharma to adopt 2,543 acres of Mambapur – Nallavelli Forest area near Gundlapochampalli in Sangareddy district.
Announcing this here today, the Chairman of Hetero Pharma Dr Partha Saradhi Reddy said that he had inspired from the Green India Challenge initiated by the MP Santhosh and decided to do his bit in this regard as part of Haritha Haram programme. He also declared the entire stretch would be developed into environment-friendly urban social forestry in 3 compartments.
He along with the Forest Minister Indrakaran Reddy, MP Santosh Kumar and several others planted saplings after laying the foundation stone at the forest. He also handed over a cheque of ₹ 5 Crores to the Government in the presence of dignitaries and PCCF R Shobha.
Minister Indrakaran Reddy explained the Govt’s efforts in saving the environment to Hetero representatives and recollected the CM KCR recent visit to Narsapur forest area wherein he instructed the forest officials to protect the forest as it is nearer to the outer ring road.
The PCCF chief R Shobha said on the occasion that stabilisation works would be taken up initially in 2,543 acres of Urban Forest by fencing almost 25Km periphery and development of a Small Eco-park would be taken up with the money donated by Hetero Pharma besides developing a viewpoint at a 630-meter hill located 2 km inside the forest.
She said that these efforts would increase the population of rare species of trees, deers wolf, rabbits, peacocks and many other native species.
MLA G Mahipal Reddy, MLC Bhoopal Reddy, ZP Chairperson Manju Sree, Special CS Forests Santi kumari, PCCF Social Forestry RM Dobrieal, Medak circle CFO Sharavanan, DFO Venkateshwar Rao, other Public representatives and Green Challenge representative Raghava were among those participating in the event.
