Himachal Governor honours first voter of India in Himachal

Himachal Governor Bandaru Dattatreya is seen interacting with the first voter of Inependent India Shyam Saran Negi in Kalpa district on Saturday

The Governor of Himachal Pradesh Bandaru Dattatraya met and India’s first voter after independence Shyam Saran Negi aged 103 years in Kalpa District, Himachal Pradesh on Saturday.


Governor honoured Shyam Saran Negi praising him for being active even at this age. “This should be a motivation for others and thanked Negi for spreading awareness amongst voters and his contribution to strengthening democracy”, said Governor.

Shyam Saran Negi welcomed the Governor on the occasion and said that he was a fan of the Prime Minister and stated that the Government was performing well under his leadership.
