Hyderabad, Sept.23 (Telemedia) : The IT initiatives of the Telangana government should be user-friendly to help resolve the day-to-day needs of the people, the Governor, ESL Narasimhan, said here today.
The IT Minister, K.T. Rama Rao, called on the Governor today at Raj Bhavan to apprise him of the state’s IT initiatives. He has given a detailed Power-Point presentation to the Governor and senior officers of on the IT vision of the Telangana Government. The Minister said that the government wants to develop Hyderabad as the most preferred technology investment destination.
Interacting with the Minister, the Governor said that the IT initiatives should be people-friendly, particularly the rural folk, in order to make them more educative. The Governor, however, stressed the need to have more accountability on the part of the user for better utilisation of the government schemes aimed at benefiting them.
Explaining in detail the steps being initiated by him in his capacity as the Minister concerned, KTR said that the Government has already signed MoUs with renowned educational institutions like the ISB, IIIH and NALSAR. Also, the Telangana Academy for Skill Development (TASK) was set up to enhance the employment opportunities for engineering graduates in the State.
The Minister also said that as part of modernisation programme his Government is aiming at converting about 10,000 villages in the State into e-panchayats. This exercise had already begun and it will soon be completed, he added. Dr N Ramesh Kumar, Mr Basant Kumar, Patnala and others were present along with him.
