Trapped in the political controversy, the AP Government’s decision of creating 3 Capitals is now all set to face the legal hurdle with the farmers of Amaravathi capital region deciding to approach the Supreme Court for justice in this regard.
In view of the above development, it is reliably learnt that the Amaravathi Joint Action Committee (JAC) which is spearheading the movement has already filed a petition to this effect and said to have approached the eminent lawyer Harish Salve to appear before the court on behalf of them.
No sooner it is learnt, the YSRCP government understood to have roped in Harish Salve to fight the 3 capital bill in the SC. He said to have yielded obviously due to the influence from Reliance group with whom he had deep professional relations. Political observers point out that Ambanis had repaid their gratitude to YSRCP in this manner as Jagan had given his close aide Parimal Nathwani to become Rajya Sabha member from Andhra Pradesh in March this year.
In this backdrop, Amaravathi JAC leaders said to have approached yet another legendary legal luminaire and the former Advocate General of India Parasaran who understood to have agreed to take up the case on behalf of farmers for free. Parasaran known for his humility was recently shot to fame for appearing on behalf of the Rama Janma Bhumi trust case that won him accolades.
This has given a shot in the arm for the agitating farmers of Amaravathi who have contributed their 33,000 acres of fertile traditional agricultural lands to the erstwhile TDP government for building their dream capital of Amaravathi. But the politics willed otherwise making them stand on the crossroad after the YSRCP government deciding to build 3 capitals.
