Hyderabad, Feb. 18 (Telemedia) : The Ministry of Minority Affairs, The Government of India, convened a Joint meeting of the Government of Telangana & Andhra Pradesh States to discuss the bifurcation of the State Wakf Board today at Hyderabad. Accordingly Secretary of Ministry of Minority Affairs Dr.Arvind Mayaram, Joint Secretary Rakesh Mohan and Under Secretary P.K.Sharma along with Aliuddin Ahmed, Secretary, Central Wakf Council came down to Hyderabad and held detailed discussions with both the Special Secretaries and officials of Minorities Welfare Department. Government of Telangana had already formulated and submitted a Scheme of bifurcation of the Wakf Board to the Government of India. Basing on same, this meeting was held today to elicit views of both the Governments on the proposals submitted by Telangana State Government. Agreement has been reached on most of the points except one or two issues which are being referred to the respective Governments for the final decision, which is to be communicated to the Government of India within one week.
Later the Deputy Director, National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA) gave a presentation on the uses of Satellite Technology in the management of Wakf Properties. Dr.Arvind Mayaram evinced keen interest in the scheme and advised NRSA to prepare and submit proposals for a Pilot project in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States.

Janab Shaik Mohammed Iqbal, Director of Minorities Welfare Department Janab Mohammed Jalaluddin Akbar, Vice Chairman & Managing Director (FAC), State Minorities Finance Corporation Ltd Prof.S.A.Shukoor, GM, MFC Janab Syed Vilayat Hussain, and CEO, Wakf Board Janab Sultan Mohiuddin were present on the occasion.
