Judos call off strike in Gandhi hospital after Minister’s assurance

The striking junior doctors have called off their strike today following an assurance from the Minister for Medical and Health Etela Rajendar.

The Minister held the deliberations with the representatives of striking staff for nearly 4 hours and assured to resolve all their demands. He condemned the attacks on doctors saying it’s not pardonable and would be dealt with seriously.

“Attacks on doctors is a heinous crime as they are serving Covid patients risking their own lives”, said the Minister.

He also assured them to meet them once every week to resolve the issues that may crop up and informed them that he would take a decision on the decentralisation proposal after discussing with the Chief Minister.

They are set to join duties from tomorrow.
