KCR supports farmers’ agitation, calls for success of Bharat Bandh

The ruling TRS party in Telangana has declared its support to the proposed ‘Bharath Band’ call given by the all party farmers federation to be held on Tuesday December 8.

Announcing this here today, Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao while extending support to the farmer’s agitation currently going on in New Delhi and subsequent bandh call given by them on December 8 demanding scrapping of new Agri bills, asked all his partymen to make the Bandh a grand success through physical participation.

Recollecting his party’s opposition to the bill in the Parliament as it was aimed at hampering the interests of the farming community, KCR stressed the need to continue the agitation till the Centre withdraws the same and appealed to the people to stand by the farmers’ agitation.

It may be recalled the fifth round of talks with representatives of 40 Farmer Unions held at Vigyan Bhawan yesterday failed to arrive at any conclusion following which the farmers federation has announced that the proposed Bharat Bandh would be held as announced.

The Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Piyush Goel and Som Prakash, while reassuring them that the MSP would remain besides narrating them the other measures taken by the Modi govt to strengthen the agriculture sector in the country, have appealed to the Farmers Unions that they should give up their agitation and solve their grievances through talks and dialogue. He appealed that children and elders should be allowed to go home in view of the cold and Covid.
