KCR inaugurates Metro rail from JBS to MGBS

Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao is seen flagging off the Metro services to MGBS in JBS while KTR and others look on.

Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao flagged off the 3rd phase of the Metro rail service between Jubilee Bus Station in Secunderabad to the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station in Hyderabad in corridor-3 at JBS on Friday.

With this L&T has declared that it has completed the 68 km stretch combining all 4 phases of Metro rail as agreed upon with the government. However, the metro rail project connecting the old city from Falknuma to the new city hasn’t been taken off due to various political reasons in the backdrop of objections being raised by the local MIM party.

Chief Minister accompanied by host of Ministers including Minister for Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao and the Managing Director, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, NVS Reddy. He later travelled in the same train from JBS up to MGBS. He shifted to driver’s cabin at Chikkadpalli and enjoyed the ride throughout.

He conducted a review meeting with the HMRL authorities and Ministers at MGBS metro station and returned to Pragathi Bhavan by road. He also reported having asked the HMRL to submit its expansion proposal.
