Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came down heavily on both Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for what they termed colluding to seek postponement of the proposed Apex Council meeting slated to be held in New Delhi on August 5.

Addressing a Media Conference online here today, the state unit chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar accused the Chief Ministers Chandrasekhar Rao of finding fault with the Centre in resolving the water dispute between AP and Telangana. He found fault with KCR for demanding postponement of the APEX Council meeting from Augst 5 to last the week. In fact, he said, he was the one who had written a letter to the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti to hold the Apex Council meeting to resolve the water dispute following which the Union Minister Gajendra Shekhawat had taken a decision to this effect and warned the AP govt to stop forthwith the plans to construct RLIP until further orders and took measures to organise the proposed meeting on August 5th. But KCR wanted it to be postponed.

“In fact, this demand should be made by AP as YS Jagan is slated to open the tenders for the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project (RLIP) on August 11”, said Sanjay adding that this clearly shows that both Chief Ministers have colluded with each other to loot public money in the name of projects and playing a mind game. Terming KCR as the elder brother of YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay said: “Both are fooling people to earn money from projects and come back to power using this corrupt money”.

He further charged that KCR is the biggest liar in the world as had no intention of protecting the state’s interests. KCR government did not even respond when the AP Govt issued the GO No.602 on May 5th for constructing RLIP across river Krishna until he wrote the letter to the Union Ministry on May 12th. “And today he is blaming the Centre for water dispute with AP”, he said adding that “he (KCR) was the one who agreed for 299 TMC of water for TS and 599 TMC of water for AP during the Apex Council meeting held on June 21, 2016”.
