Kite and Sweet Festival in city from January 13

A 3-day Kite and Sweet Festival is all set to take off from January 13 in Secunderabad Parade grounds, announced the Minister for Tourism and Culture V Srinivas Goud.

Announcing this here at a media conference today, the Minister said in accordance with the instructions from the Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao, the Kite and Sweet festival would be launched on January 13 which will last up to January 15.

The festival will be attended by over 40 International Cricket players from 20 countries and 60 kite players from 25 states in the country besides several kite clubs will participate in the mega event, the minister said.

The event will also witness the largest Sweet festival wherein more than 1000 variety of sweets made by Housewives representing various states and living in the city will be put up for sale. These sweets would come to stay as the ‘Taste of India’.

The event will also feature various arts, culture, dance, drama forms exhibiting Telangana tradition and culture. Over 12 to 15 lakh people are expected to take part in the 3-day event, said the Minister Srinivas Goud.

The others who attended the programme include Secretary Tourism and Culture Burra Venkatesham, Chairman Tourism Bhupathi Reddy, MD Tourism Manohar, Secretary Culture Mamidi Harikrishna and representatives of Click Benjamin, Abhijit, Veena etc.
