KTR helps again veteran Telangana protagonist of 1969 movement

In yet another gesture, the state government has once again come to the rescue of the 1969 veteran Telangana protagonist Dr Kolluri Chiranjeevi by sanctioning a sum of Rs10 lakh for meeting his medical bills immediately.


Dr Chiranjeevi has been ailing for few days and is now on ventilator in AIG hospital at Gachibowli. This is the 3rd time that he had been hospitalised for his heart ailment and in 2019 when he was admitted to Care hospital, the CM had sanctioned Rs5 lakh as immediate relief which was handed over to him by the Chairman of BC Corporation BS Ramulu and its member Juluri Gouri Shankar.

This time again, the CMO had come to his rescue once again as his family members took to social media to mobile funds for his treatment. Coming to know this, Minister KT Rama Rao today spoke to the wife and daughter of Chiranjeevi and sanctioned a sum of Rs 10 lakh towards meeting hospital expenditure.

Health Minister Etela Rajender also called on him at the hospital and inquired with doctors about his health condition. Minister expressed the hope that he would come out unscathed.

Reacting to the gesture, Chiranjeevi’s daughter Ajitha said that she was happy to receive the call from KTR and thanked him for his timely monetary help.

Dr Chiranjeevi is an alumnus of Kakatiya Medical College and is a founder member of the 1969 Telangana Udhyamakarula Forum. A former Naxalite leader and a close associate of late Kondapalli Seetharamaiah, Dr Chiranjeevi was one of the prime accused in the famous case of Tapalpur Ghadi attack and later surrendered to the government. He was also a close confidant of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) founder Kanshi Ram and involved in several social and Dalit movements to date actively.
