Nizamabad : The much dreamed project of the state government namely ePanchayat has been inaugurated by the Minister for Panchayat Raj and IT K.T. Rama Rao. He inaugurated the ePanchayat office in Bibipet gram panchayat under Domakonda mandal of Nizamabad district along with the Minister for Agriculture Pocharam Srinivas Reddy. The ePachayat facilitates bringing governance to the door steps of the people in the village as envisaged by Mahatma Gandhi, said the Minister for Panchayat Raj.
He was addressing a gathering after the inauguration. He said according to the Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of achieving Gram Swarajya, the state government has visualised the concept and implemented it today as a first step towards converting the rest of 8769 gram panchayats in the state with the help of using modern technology. This would benefit at least 25,000 villages, he said and added that the people in rural areas would get 60 different types of government services being provided out of 320 various civic services. All these civic services would be available to the common man at village level just on the click of a mouse, he added.
The government has also plans to provide employment to at least 10 thousand women who can earn at least Rs.5000 to 10,000 a month. From now on all the present government schemes such as Aasara pensions, banking services, and other welfare schemes would be made available through ePanchayats only. This would not only save beneficiaries’ time and money but also provide transparency in administration, he said.
The minister also distributed vegetable seeds to the women folk just Rs.10 for 10 variety of seeds. This would be supplied to all the 13 thousand women folk throughout district in a phased manner. In this connection, KTR handed over a bank linkage seed money of Rs.20 crore to women groups.
