KTR, Puvvada flag off Metro Rail for Raidurg at Hitec City

Municipal Minister KTR is seen flagging of the Metro rail at Hitech Metro station today while Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, MLA Arekapudi Gandhi and other officials look on.

Minister for Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao and Minister for Transport Puvvada Ajay Kumar have flagged off Metro Rail services from Hitec City to Raidurg stretch at Hitec city Metro station here today. Later, they took the metro ride and travelled from Hitec city to Raidurg.

Speaking after inaugurating the Metro, KT Rama Rao said: “Metro is already carrying about 4 lakh commuters per day and this 1.5 km stretch will add another 40,000 passengers initially and help provide seamless travel to many IT and ITES establishments in this part of the city”. 

He also directed HMRL officials to complete the footpaths and other facilities at Raidurg metro station in the next two weeks. 

MD, HMRL NVS Reddy stated that the metro trains are running 780 trips daily covering 18,000 km. So far, the Metro has carried 12.5 crore passengers in the last 2 years. He said Hyderabad Metro has so far received 98 awards and was adjudged as the best Metro in the world in terms of passenger satisfaction according to a survey conducted by a global public transport operator M/s Keolis. 

L&T Group MD SN Subramanian, MLA Serilingampally Arekapudi Gandhi, Prl. Secretary, MA&UD Arvind Kumar, senior officials of HMRL and L&T and others attended the function.
