Thousands of people participated en mass in Bhagavad Gita Parayanam on Sunday for the well being of those Jawans striving hard at the Borders to keep our country secure.
Organised by the Samsrkrita Bharathi here at the TTD Kalyana mandapam in the city, the programme was compered by the noted Vedic Scholar Dorbala Ramakrishna Sarma who taught the audiences the nuances in reading out the Hindu Vedic holy scripture, Bhagavad Gita in its true form and spirit.
A large number of male, female, old, young and children alike took part in the mass reading of Bhagavad Gita. Speaking on the occasion, Sarma said that Bhagavad Gita was narrated first by Lord Krishna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra to motivate Arjuna to wage a war against the evil forces and in the process that explains the dos and don’ts of the human beings. “However, there was only one Arjuna but today we have many Arjunas in the form of our Indian Army. Hence, we are here today to motivate these Arjunas to protect our country by reciting this holy scripture”, he said.
Noted Sanskrit Professor and internationally acclaimed Vedic scholar Narendra Kopte who attended as the chief guest delivered his message in Sanskrit.
