MIM MLA Balala removes barricades forcibly, BJP Cong demands action

MIM MLA from Malakpet Ahmed bin Abdullah Balala landed in a controversy for forcibly removing the police barricades on the Dabirpura flyover in the old city on Saturday.

The incident came to light after a video showing him removing the barricades erected by the city police to prevent traffic movement on the flyover while a constable on duty is seen frantically trying to reach his bosses haplessly. The Malakpet zone is currently under the Red Zone.

This evoked sharp reaction from opposition political parties demanding stern action against MIM legislator for violating lockdown rules. BJP MLA Raja Singh while demanding action against the MIM MLA alleged that the reckless attitude of an MLA is a glaring example of MIM’s stand on lockdown in the old city from where the number of violations report mostly.

However, when contacted by MaaHyderabad Dabirpura police said that the MLA had already taken permission from the ACP to remove the barricades.

Meanwhile, the Congress spokesperson G Niranjan said that the incident indicates how the police department is scared and afraid of MIM Party and its leaders in the old city of Hyderabad. “The officials are trying to cover the high handedness of the MIM legislators by taking the burden of lapse on to them. If there were instructions from higher officials, why the constable was not seen extending his hand in removing barricades”, he questioned.
