Minister for Sports, Tourism and Excise V Srinivas Goud has called upon sports fraternity to join hands in helping the needy during the lockdown. He distributed grocery packets consisting of 10 varieties to over 200 women belonging to BPL families.
He has taken up the distribution task under the aegis of Sports Authority of Telangana here at LB Stadium today. Speaking on the occasion Srinivas Goud said that due to the state government initiative the SAT has decided to distribute groceries to the middle and the BPL families in view of the lockdown and appreciated the sports fraternity for coming forward to help the needy. “But we need many more to come out to contribute their mite for the cause”, he said.
SAT Chairman Allipuram Venkateswar Reddy thanked the sports personalities including Gopichand, Sania Mirza, PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, Mithali Raj for their contribution towards the cause. He appealed to many other faculty members also to join in this endeavour so that no one in our state should go hungry in this crisis times as expected by CM KCR.
The others who participated in the programme include its chairman Allipuram Venkateswar Reddy, Corporator Mamata Gupta, Director Cultural Affairs Mamidi Harikrishna, ace shooter Esha Singh, TGO Central Committee president Mamatha, TNGO President Karem Ravinder Reddy, SAT officers Sujatha, Manohar and few other sportspersons.
