Minister for Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao inaugurated two Basti Dawakhanas at Erragadda and Vengalrao Nagar while Etela Rajendar inaugurated in Mallapur division here today.
Speaking on the occasion, he said Government is aiming at providing primary health care at doorsteps of the poor. At present, there are about 123 Basti Dawakhanas in Greater Hyderabad and today 45 new Basti Dawakhanas were launched in various locations.
“These clinics will be opened to the public from 9 am to 4 pm every day to enable locals of each Basti can avail medical facilities in these clinics”, he said. These clinics provide free diagnostic services as well as free medicines to the poor. Minister said it gives him extreme happiness to launch 45 Basti Dawakhanas on a single day to cater to the medical needs of the people. He examined the facilities available in the Basti Dawakhana.
Minister also got his body temperature and BP checked with the medical staff available in the clinic. After inaugurating the Basti Dawakhana interacted with an old woman who came for the treatment at the clinic.
Jubilee hills MLA Maganti Gopinath, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Health Department Spl Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, MAUD Prl Secretary Arvind Kumar, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, Hyderabad Collector Swetha Mohanty, Additional Commissioner Ravi Kiran and others participated in the program.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Etela Rajendar inaugurated the same in SV Nagar in Mallapur division along with Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, MLA Bethi Subash Reddy, and the Commissioner Medical and Health Dr Yogitha Rana
Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav inaugurated 2 Basti Dawakanas in Chepal Bayi and Nala Bazar bastis.
Padmarao Goud inaugurated in Bojagutta, Asif Nagar, Dattatreya Nagar, Gagan Mahal and Lambadi Basti in Tarnaka.
