Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this Diwali, let us also light a Diya as a salute to Soldiers who fearlessly protect our nation.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, “This Diwali, let us also light a Diya as a salute to Soldiers who fearlessly protect our nation. Words can’t do justice to the sense of gratitude we have for our soldiers for their exemplary courage. We are also grateful to the families of those on the borders.”
PM reached the Longewala post in Rajasthan to celebrate the Diwali festival today with Indian Army soldiers. He has been celebrating Diwali with soldiers every year since he assumed power in 2014.
PM is accompanied by the Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat and Army Chief Naravane and the Director-General of Board Security Force (BSF) Rakesh Asthana. Earlier in the day, in a separate tweet, he greeted the people a happy Diwali and shared an old video clipping from his Mann ki Baat shot on October 25th last in which he called upon people to light a Diya for the Indian Soldiers. He asked the nation to light a lamp as a mark of our gratitude toward our soldiers for their exemplary courage.
