Chairman of the Telangana State Minorities Commission Mohammed Qamaruddin visited the house of Late Smt. Uzma Fatima Assistant Engineer, who died accidentally in a fire in one of the units of the State-run TSGENCO hydel power station of the Srisailam project at Eagalapenta yesterday.
Mohammed Qamaruddin met the father of the deceased, Mohd Abdul Haq Zubair and expressed condolences.
State Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali also visited homes of Uzma Fathima, Assistant Engineer and Srinivas Goud, Deputy engineer. The Minister said that Uzma Fatima was his neighbour in Azampura. Two years ago, she met him after getting selected for the job and she wanted to work in Hyderabad or nearby. On which he assured for the same and suggested to join in the job first.
The Home Minister further said that Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao has announced Rs 50 lakhs to the family of the Deputy Engineer and Rs 25 lakhs to the families of the Assistant Engineers and assured a job to each of the victim’s family.
Earlier in the day, Hyderabad MP and MIM Party chief Asaduddin Owaisi called on the bereaved family members at their house in Azampura and consoled them while expressing sorrow at the sudden demise of the young budding engineer Uzma Fatima, the Assistant Engineer with GENCO.
Tweeting to this effect, Asaduddin said: “Visited the family of Assistant Engineer Uzma Fatima, who lost her life in the #Srisailam mishap yesterday. Her family talked about how Uzma was a dedicated & bright young woman. I pray to Allah that he give her family strength to deal with this loss”
