NIC developed PDS software by using the State of art technology and the software is utilised by Civil Supplies Department to eliminate bogus cards with Aadhaar authentication and due to this the Department has been able to deactivate 10.13 lakh bogus cards from June to September 2014 and about 50.98 lakh bogus units have been deactivated. The Department is able to save 16,544 MTs of rice w.e.f. September 2014.
Further Aadhaar seeding is in progress and special drive for elimination of bogus cards is likely to be completed by end of the month and the final savings will be known. Online allocation is being given every month after taking into account closing balances of all essential commodities entered by the Tahsildars every month in the online screens. This enables the issue of correct proper allocation to the FP Shops from the DSOs office.
The 37th SKOCH Group summit sponsored by various Ministries of Government of India such as the Ministry of Panchayat Raj, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is being held from 18th to 21st September, 2014 at New Delhi with a theme of “ Minimum Government and Maximum Governance”.
In the summit, the NIC, Telangana has been awarded with an order of merit award and the Commissioner of Civil Supplies, C.Partha Sarathi, Chief Rationing Officer, Dr. Padma, and the Technical Director, (Retd.) National Informatics Centre (Telangana), Sabita, and the Technical Director, NIC (Telangana), Shivaji, have received the Certificate and award on behalf of NIC and the government of Telangana onSeptember 19th, 2014 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
