Hyderabad Municipal Development Authority (HMDA) has warned the landowners along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) against taking up any construction activity within the 15-meter from the road as it has been earmarked as a buffer zone to enable them to develop greenery.
This was clarified by the Principle Secretary Municipal Administration during a reviewing meeting with the heads of ORR and Hyderabad Growth Corridor (HGC) here today. Aravind Kumar said it has been found that many structures have come up in this 15-meter buffer zone as it was only permitted to develop greenery on both sides of the outer ring road. He also wanted the authorities to immediately identify any such structures come up in the buffer zone area and demolish them forthwith.
He also wanted all municipalities and gram panchayats to issue construction permissions to the individual landowners, builders, developers etc strictly adhering to the GO MS Nos 470 and 440 which makes it mandatory to leave a set back of 15 meters from the ORR wall. No compound walls, hoardings, radio, mobile, telecom towers, power transformers and dish antennas etc. will not be allowed to be erected in this buffer zone. “Action will be taken against any such structure found in the buffer zone”, he quipped.
The conference was attended by the ORR Project Director BM Santosh, HMDA Chief Engineer BLN Reddy, and HGCL CGM GL Ravinder.
