Rachakonda police on Friday arrested one person in connection with ‘online prostitution’ racket in the city today.
According to the details, the accused identified as Vamshi Reddy of Chilkaluripeta in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh in association with Anjali and Chinna of Vijayawada formed a gang and have been indulging in women trafficking mostly from Kolkata.
They kept some women in a rented house in Balkampet and have been attracting customers by posting their photos online on social media platforms. They take all precautions whenever they get a phone enquiry. They return every call only after making enquiries through true caller and other modes. Once they feel it is a secure number, they call back and have a deal. After transfer of advance online through Paytm or google account, they would send the women to the designated place as suggested by the customer.
However, the police team under the supervision of Malkajgiri SOT Inspector Naveen Kumar and, Keesara Inspector Narender performed a decoy operation and caught the culprit redhanded by making him to reach Rampalli near Keesara and arrested the culprit. But other two escaped from the dragnet. Police are investigating.
