Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao has called up on all politicians to take part in Azadi Ka Amruth Mahotsav in a big way irrespective of political affiliation.
He was speaking after inaugurating the much-awaited Azadi Ka Amruth Mahotsav by unveiling a National Flag at Public gardens here today. CM KCR said India should always be analysed from the perspective of post-Independent India. Hence, his government has decided to organise Azadi Ka Amruth Mahotsav for 75 weeks beginning today up to August 15, 2022.
Elaborating on the Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violent freedom struggle especially ‘ Salt agitation that led to the famous ‘Quit India’ movement, CM KCR said in order to create awareness among people about various facets of the Independence struggle waged by Mahatma Gandhi, several cultural programmes, essay writing competitions in schools and colleges, elocution competitions etc. will be organised across the state for which the government has already sanctioned a sum of Rs 25 crore.
A managing committee has also been formed under the chairmanship of Dr KV Ramana Chary for the effective implementation of the programme.
The Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, DGP Mahender Reddy and other public representatives participated in the event.
