PM calls for a self-imposed ‘Janata Curfew’ on March 22


Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the citizens of India to observe a self-imposed Citizens Curfew from 7 AM to 10 PM on Sunday, March 22 to express solidarity with those practically serving those fighting with the deadly Covid19.

In his address to the nation today, Prime Minister expressed his serious concern at the rate at which the diseases are fast-spreading forcing us to wage a battle against this virus. The entire world is at crossroads today despite the brave fight being put up by every country especially in the absence of any vaccine found from the ongoing researches. “We have no other option but to keep the afflicted persons in isolation and treat them”, he said.

He compared the present situation with that of the situation prevailed during the world wars and called upon people to join hands with state and central governments in fighting unitedly against this virus as there is no solution found so far. “Everyone has to follow the self-regulations by keeping your hands, and surroundings clean besides avoiding gatherings be at the home, office or in your locality or outside”, he said.

He further said that the Covid also affecting our economy and hence a Covid19 Economic Task Force will be formed at the national level with states participation. It will coordinate will all states with regard to economic issues raised due to Covid19, he said.
