Postpone Youth Cong elections: DCC presidents tell Uttam

Presidents of all District Congress Committees (DCCs) want Nehru-Gandhi family to head their party at the national level. They passed a resolution to this effect and submitted it to Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt Uttam Kumar Reddy at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday.

They also demanded that the ongoing elections for Youth Congress should be postponed in view of Covid-19 situation in Telangana State.


Warangal DCC President Rajender Reddy also gave a brief explanation on the resolution passed by all DCC Presidents. He said also condemned the leaders who wrote a letter demanding change in leadership and demanded that disciplinary action must be taken against those who leaked the letter to the media. Uttam Kumar Reddy assured that he would convey the Congress High Command about the resolution passed by the DCC Presidents.

Speaking on the occasion, Uttam Kumar Reddy praised the DCC Presidents for their hard work to strengthen the party in their respective districts. He said that the DCCs have done great service during the lockdown period and the help they provided to migrant workers was commendable. He said that the DCC presidents have been serving the party despite facing a lot of hardship and difficulties.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS Government has failed on fronts. There is a lot of resentment among people towards KCR Government and said Congress would return to power in next elections. He urged them to expose the failures of the KCR Government to strengthen the party by filling up all the vacant posts in the party. He said that the appointments to all the committees should be completed by September 3.

Later in the evening, Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with Congress Legislature Party leader Bhatti Vikramarka held a video-conference through Zoom App to finalise the touring scheme of CLP leader. AS per the schedule, Bhatti Vikaramarka will visit Covid-19 hospitals across the Telangana State from August 26 to September 4.
