Prithviraj resigns as SVBC chairman, demands vigilance probe


The cine actor and Chairman of popular Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel Prithiviraj have tendered his resignation following the controversy erupted over the leakage of his audio recording on the alleged sexual harassment of his woman employee.

Announcing his decision here today at a media meet held in Hyderabad Press Club, Prithvi said that he has decided to resign on the advice of his party chief after the audiotape in which he said to have made romantic remarks during his conversation with a woman employee of SVBC that went viral on social media. “I have already sent my resignation to the party chief by mail”, he said adding that ‘though I was not guilty’.

However, he alleged that there was a huge conspiracy to oust him after he termed the farmers as Paid artists at Amaravathi. However, he denied that he made such remarks as he also belongs to the same family and he had high respect for the farming community. He also cursed those levelling such kind of heinous allegations saying that God would punish them as he was not that kind. “I don’t even drink. But they stooped so low that they claimed I have misused the Padmavathi guest house”, he remarked.

He finally demanded Vigilance enquiry into all the allegations levelled against him by the opposition parties saying that he would emerge innocent in this. He also denied criticism by noted film producer Ashwini Dutt, actor Posani Krishna Murali etc about his character.
