Protect the rights of agitating farmers: Punjab students write CJI

The Students of the Punjab State have brought to the notice of the Chief Justice of India about the plights of the farmers agitating at the Singhu border on the outskirts of the Delhi demanding to scrap new agricultural laws enacted by the Central government.

In a letter addressed to the CJI, the students informed about the lathi charge and the use of smoke bombs and water cannons by the cops which they termed it as ‘human rights violation’ by the Haryana government and urged the CJI to protect the rights of the agitating farmers.
