Director of the actor Chiranjeevi’s maiden film Punadirallu, Gudipati Rajkumar died of ill health. He was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in the city for some time.
Hailing from Uyyur village in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, Raj Kumar directed the movie Punadi Rallu in 1979 that has incidentally the first movie of the Telugu Superstar Chiranjeevi. The film turned out to be a super hit and won Nandi Award as the Best Film.
His body has been taken to his native village wherein last rites would conducted tomorrow Sunday. Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi paid tributes to the departed soul and recollected his early days working with Raj Kumar in the film.
