The Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat was conferred with TIP Hero Award 2017 for containing women trafficking. The CP had rescued more than 1000 women & children from sex trafficking and 800 children from forced labour during his tenure.
According to a report hero 2017, the senior IPS officer Bhagwat was selected for this coveted award for global recognition of his decade long work in anti trafficking. The Department of State US government has announced this award last week to Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat with 7 others for his 13 years consistent work in anti trafficking in AP & Telangana states.
US Secretary of state Tillerson and Evanka Trump were the chief guests of that award ceremony in Washington DC. Since CP Rachakonda Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat IPS could not attend the award ceremony in Washington DC a special program was arranged yesterday at Taj Krishna Hotel in the city and presented the award to the CP.
The programme was attended by the US Consulate Hyderabad consul General Katherine Hadda and DG Road Safety Krishna prasad who has conferred Trafficking in person report hero 2017 award. The Home Secretary Rajiv Trivedi, City Police Commissioner Mahendra Reddy, CP Cyberabad Sandip Shandilya, TIP Hero S Umapathi, Padmashree Dr Sunita Krishnan of Prajwala TIP Hero, CG US Consulate Chennai & Kolkota Sunita Bhagwat and Commissioner Telangana Tourism have attended this function.
