Rahul announces sops for SHG groups, Interacts with women members in Hyderabad


Congress president Rahul Gandhi announced prepoll sops for the Self-help groups while addressing them in Hyderabad this evening. He declared that his party would extend Pension and waive off the interest on SHG loans once comes to power after the 2019 elections.

He was interacting with the women belonging to SHG groups in RR district as part of his first visit to the city after formation of the state in the capacity as the party president. While accusing the Modi government at the Centre and KCR government at the state of declining either waiver of loans to the SHG groups or providing fresh loans to them, he charged that Modi and KCR will only give the waiver to big corporate houses but not the poor.

While referring to the recently announced waiver agricultural farms loans to the tune of Rs.10,000 crores by the centre, Rahul Gandhi said that Congress-led government in Karnataka has waived 3 times more than what Modi government had waived in the entire country. 

He charged that Narendra Modi and KCR of providing poor man’s money to big corporate houses as loans turning Nelson’s eye towards the poor. While stating that Telangana and AP used to have the best SHG groups in the country which now have been made defunct. He assured that he would do justice to the women after he forms the government.
