Release 2537 crores under Central Schemes: KTR asks Union Minister

Minister for Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao is seen submitting a memorandum to the Union Minister of state for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri while Vice Chairman of State Planning Board B Vinod Kumar looks on.

Telangana Minister for IT and Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao has urged the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Housing and Urban Affairs and Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri to release the funds under key Central sector schemes amounted to Rs2537.81 crores.

He along with the Vice-Chairman of Telangana State Planning Board Boyinpalli Vinod Kumar called on the Union Minister at his office today in Nirman Bhavan in New Delhi. The Minister apprised the Union Minister of issues related to Municipal Administration and Urban Development. He held a detailed discussion on the release of Rs.1184.8 crores under PMAY (urban), Rs217.49 crores grants pending under Swachh Bharath Mission (SBM-urban), besides Rs351.77 crores under AMRUT project besides Rs783.75 crores for GHMC (million-plus city) and also the non-million-plus city under 15th Finance Commission.

He further explained various projects which are in the completion stage taken up by the state government to provide basic amenities like public toilets, dump yard, sewage treatment plant etc., in urban bodies.

Later on, the Minister has requested to expedite the Warangal airport work under UDAAN scheme. Also, speed up the survey process of all the proposed airports in the state. Resident Commissioner of Telangana Bhavan Dr Gaurav Uppal accompanied them.
