A division bench of the Supreme Court hearing the writ petition against the construction of new Secretariat by the Telangana government has transferred the case to a bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan.

Hearing the arguments on the petition filed by the Malkajgiri MP Revanth Reddy, the division bench took the decision after the counsel for the state government Solicitor General Tushar Mehta argued that the case is unfit for the hearing as Justice Ashok Bushan has already ruled that the state has powers to build secretariat complex of its choice.

The bench headed by Chief Justice Aravind Bobde differing with the Mehta’s argument transferred the case back to the Justice Ashok Bhushan bench. The case may come up for hearing on October 26, 2020.
