Sangareddy cops suspended for beating a Cab driver mercilessly

Cops are seen beating a cab driver Wajid indiscriminately in Sangareddy

The Sangareddy police suspended 2 of its policemen and attached two others to the headquarters after a video of the police personnel beating a driver indiscriminately went viral on social media.


The District Superintendent of Police Chandrasekhar Reddy initiated disciplinary action against those involved in the incident hours after a row erupted following a video went viral over cops’ attrocious behaviour towards a car driver.

According to the details, the cab driver identified as Wajid stopped his car few yards away from the police check point on Sangareddy. Enraged at this, cops pulled him out of his car and beaten him black and blue. They kicked him, used baton against him indiscriminately. The video also showed that some men carried him away on thier hands as he couldn’t even stand due to injuries.

People have also staged a protest in front of Sadasivapet police station expressing their anger at the incident. The accused policemen who were suspended include Constable Ramulu and Home Guard Balaraju while Asst Sub-Inspector of Police Durgaiah and Constable Prasad was attached to the headquarters.
