The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) in association with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has organized a campaign against Single-Use Plastic Product and a ‘Shramdaan’ for Plastic Collection and Segregation’ at a programme held to mark Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations at Charminar on Wednesday.
NTPC and GHMC officials participated in large numbers in ‘Shramdan’ for plastic collection and segregation of plastic waste during the program. Street Plays were organised highlighting the hazards of single-use plastic usage. The dignitaries who participated in the plastic-waste collection stressed in their message the need to avoid single-use plastic usage.
The Regional Executive Director (South) Dilip Kumar Dubey, Additional Commissioner, IT, Waste to Energy, SDP-CPP, GHMC Mohammad Musharraf Ali Faruqui, British Deputy High Commissioner Andrew Fleming and GHMC Zonal Commissioner S Srinivas Reddy were among those who participated in the campaign.
