SBI adopts 15 Tigers in Nehru Zoo Park, releases 15 Lakh for preservation


The Hyderabad circle of the State Bank of India (SBI) has donated a sum of Rs 15 lakh to the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad as part of its Animal Adoption Programme. The SBI has adopted 15 Tigers in Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad 5 years ago under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The DGM & CDO of SBI KV Bangar Raju presented the cheque to this effect to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF) Smt R Shobha in the presence of Addl. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Director (FAC) Zoo Parks, Hyderabad Dr Sidhanand Kukrety. The other officials who were present on the occasion include Curator of Nehru Zoological Park Smt N Kshitija, AGM-PR LSSVD Hanumantha Rao, DM-PR T Harinath Reddy, and AVP-Marketing Dinesh P etc. Later they went around the Zoo and appreciated the maintenance of animal enclosures, animal health and cleanliness of the Zoo Park. 

Speaking on the occasion Dr Sidhanand Kukrety thanked the officials of SBI, Hyderabad for showing a keen interest in adopting the tigers for the consecutive 6th year, thereby strengthening the wildlife conservation and awareness programmes of the Zoo Park. He also appealed to all the banks and other corporates to come forward in more number towards the animal adoption scheme in the Zoo Park.

DGM & CDO, SBI, Hyderabad KV Bangar Raju said that he was impressed with the maintenance and the way animals were taking care in Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad and that he has visited too many Zoos across the country, but Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad the best in all aspects.

The Curator of Nehru Zoological Park Smt N Kshitija thanked the officials of the SBI for being a valuable member of Zoo family and hoped that their initiative towards conservation of wildlife will inspire and interest many other corporates & individuals. She urged the people and organizations to take part in this journey of Conservation, Breeding, Education with Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad.
